The most respected crash test authority, the European New Car assessment Programme, has released its latest results for a number of cars. Most of these are (or will be) available in our market.
These new results included a whole range of different segments. The latest cars tested include the Land Discovery Sport, Porsche Macan, Smart ForTwo, Volkswagen Passat, Kia Sorento, Mini Cooper and the Lexus NX.
Here are the full EuroNCAP crash test results with the videos:
Mini Cooper
The Mini received 79% for occupant protection, 73% for child protection, 66% for pedestrian protection and 56% for what EuroNCAP calls “Safety First”. The latter is used to ascertain which safety systems are offered with the car. The result was an overall score of four stars.
Lexus NX
Lexus latest SUV received 82% for occupant protection, 82% for child protection, 69% for pedestrian protection and 71% for “Safety First”. The result was an overall score of five stars.
Land Discovery Sport
The replacement for the aging Freelander received and impressive 93% for occupant protection, 83% for child protection, 69% for pedestrian protection and 82% for “Safety First”. The result was an overall score of five stars.
Porsche Macan
Porsche’s sporty, compact SUV received 88% for occupant protection, 87% for child protection, 60% for pedestrian protection and 66% for “Safety First”. The result was an overall score of five stars.
Smart ForTwo
Daimler AG’s city car received 82% for occupant protection, 80% for child protection, 56% for pedestrian protection and 56% for “Safety First”. The result was an overall score of four stars. Impressive for such a small car.
Volkswagen Passat
VW’s luxury sedan received 85% for occupant protection, 87% for child protection, 66% for pedestrian protection and 76% for “Safety First”. The result was an overall score of five stars.
Kia Sorento
Kia’s largest SUV received 90% for occupant protection, 83% for child protection, 67% for pedestrian protection and 71% for “Safety First”. The result was an overall score of five stars.
