The upcoming Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupe has been leaked on the internet courtesy of a smartphone-wielding journalist at a closed-door event.
You have to question the wisdom of combining enterprising journalists with smartphones and a closed-door reveal without the requisite pat-down for photographic paraphernalia, but this clearly didn’t concern Mercedes too much and the result is a handy glimpse at the most extreme iteration of the C-Class Coupe two weeks ahead of its official unveiling at the German Grand Prix.
The pictures, shown on Autocar and taken by a hitherto unnamed journo during the recent launch of the revised E63 AMG, reveal a muscular body kit encompassing swollen wheelarches, more vents than a technical training shoe, quad exhaust outlets and model-specific alloy wheels behind which you can catch a glimpse of body colour-coded brake callipers.
The interior features a pair of sports bucket seats, colour-coded trim stitching and red seatbelts.
The ‘stock’ C63 AMG saloon featured a revised front-end architecture taken from the CLK 63 AMG Black Series and its believed that the Black Series Coupe will also undergo extensive revisions to its underpinnings, including a revised suspension set-up.
