The Lexus NF-NX Concept will make its official debut at next week’s Frankfurt Motor Show as a means to gauge the public’s perception of the firm’s future design direction while previewing a production compact crossover model.
The NF-NX Concept is perhaps the most extreme interpretation of the firm’s L-Finesse design idiom. With what looks like the biggest iteration of the now-signature grille, sharp headlamps undercut by slash-shaped LED daytime running lights.
A myriad of character and cut lines ripple along the flanks, which are punctuated with bulging wheel arches with a black protective finish. The rear sports an extreme take on the downward-pointing boomerang brakelamps currently featuring on the latest IS models.
The car’s Brushed Metal Silver exterior paintwork is contrasted by bold yellow cabin trim and blue-lit instrumentation.
The concept will reportedly feature a version of the company’s parallel hybrid drivetrain specifically developed for this model – possibly utilising an all-wheel drive configuration.
The production NF-NX will go head-to-head with the likes of the Mercedes-Benz GLA and the production BMW X4, both of which will hit the global market during the course of next year.
