The Lotus Evora enters the sportscar market as the only mid-engined 2+2 in production and is seen as a more holistic offering than the company’s popular Elise, Europa and Exige models.
According to Lotus the Evora offers a package that integrates stunning design, exclusivity and performance with an appreciable degree of real-world usability and a unique sense of occasion. Powered by a 3,5-litre V6 producing 206 kW and 342 N.m of torque, the new car employs innovative lightweight chassis technology to ensure all-round dynamic performance.
The Evora dispatches the zero to 100 km/h sprint in just over 5 seconds with a top speed of around 260 km/h. Economy and emissions figures are 8,7 litres/100 km and 205 g/km CO2 respectively.
A road test of the Lotus Evora will feature in the June 2010 issue of CAR magazine.
