Viglietti Motors, South Africa’s sole distributor of Maserati, has launched the race-inspired GranTurismo MC Stradale.
Based on the GranTurismo S and fettled via the firm’s Trofeo GranTurismo MC motorsport programme, the GranTurismo MC Stradale introduces a whole range of racing-inspired features to the road-going Maserati – the most noteworthy of which is a dedicated “Race” mode, which accentuates both the sound and the performance when engaged.
Power is provided by a 4,7-litre V8 engine developing 330 kW and 510 N.m of torque – 7 kW and 20 N.m up from that of the standard S. The MC Stradale has also undergone some mass-saving modifications that shave off 110 kg from the 1880 kg of the GranTurismo S.
Other highlights include Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes and advanced electronics to cut gearshift times down to 60 milliseconds, which helps propel the car from standstill to 100 km/h in 4,6 seconds and on to a top speed in excess of 300 km/h.

The MC Stradale costs R1,699 million.
