In celebration of the Porsche Club’s 60th anniversary, the Zuffenhausen-based firm has lifted the wraps off the 911 Club Coupé special edition – a run of just 13 cars with model-specific livery and a wide range of options.
The 911 Club Coupé special edition will make its official debut during the Porsche Museum’s “60 years of the Porsche club” exhibition.
Based on the present 911 Carrera S, this limited-run special features a Brewster Green paint finish, 20-inch SportTechno alloys, and a SportDesign exterior styling package. The interior also receives a number of trim upgrades while other model-specific touches include special trim decals for each individual car, illuminated door sill plates and an anniversary logo.
The 3,8-litre, horizontally-opposed engine also gets a shot in the arm courtesy of a Powerkit upgrade that bumps the output up from 298 kW to 316 kW.
Porsche’s decision to build just 13 units reflects the 13 original Porsche drivers who formed the very first Porsche club in Germany. Just 12 examples will find their way to a selection of the current 118 000 Porsche club members worldwide, who have until July 16 to apply for the draw that determines right to purchase one. Porsche AG will retain one of the cars for its collection.
The 911 Club Coupé special edition will reportedly be available to selected customers in every Porsche market, with the exception of India and China. Speaking with a Porsche South Africa spokesperson, it’s been confirmed that this model will not find its way onto our market.
