Images of the long-awaited Mercedes-AMG GT have been leaked ahead of next week’s Paris Motor Show.
Mercedes will reportedly offer the first of the AMG GT models on a limited-volume basis in line with Mercedes’ Edition 1 sales strategy, which sees launch models offered with sporting accents and high levels of standard equipment as an incentive to potential customers.
Official details of the AMG GT are yet to be confirmed but the consensus is that the Edition 1 will feature the same twin-turbocharged 4,0-litre V8 producing a mammoth 375 kW at 6 250 r/min and 650 N.m of torque between 1 750 and 4 750 r/min as the standard GT S, revealed earlier this month.
The Edition 1 will differ from the previously revealed standard GT and GT S models with the inclusion of carbon-fibre accents on the front air ducts, lower outer edges of the front bumper extensions and the embellishments within the sills. A set of 10-spoke alloy wheels and a prominent fixed rear wing in place of the standard GT’s retractable wing round off the exterior treatments, while the interior will receive a series of yellow styling accents and Edition 1 badges.
