Images of the Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG, the first ever four-cylinder saloon to emerge from the Affalterbach tuning stable, have leaked onto the ‘web ahead of the car’s official debut at the upcoming New York Motor Show in March 28.
The overall treatment meted out upon the CLA45 AMG is fairly subtle; comprising more purposeful side skirts, quad exhaust outlets set within a rear diffuser, a revised front apron with carbon-fibre trimming on its leading edge and the apexes of the flanking air dams, an enlarged rear spoiler and a set of black alloy wheels in a multi-spoke design.
This model is expected to feature the same engine as its five-door A45 AMG stable mate.
The unit in question is reportedly the most powerful four-cylinder petrol engine in the world – a 2,0-litre turbopetrol developing 265 kW and 450 N.m of torque. This engine will be coupled with a seven-speed, dual-clutch, automatic transmission channelling drive to all four wheels.
More details will emerge when the Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG makes its official debut at next week’s New York Motor Show.
