Images and details of the new Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG have surfaced. With performance numbers that rival those of BMW’s X5 M and X6 M models, this performance-orientated Gelandewagen looks set to get you from the city to the holiday destination a record-breaking time.
Mercedes has opted to use its twin-turbo 5,5-litre V8 engine in the G63. In this application the unit pushes out 400 kW and 760 N.m of torque, while consuming an average of 13,8 litres/100 km of fuel. Your dent in the ozone layer will consititute 322 g/km of CO2.
This AMG-badged G-wagon is set apart from the normal version by its large front bumper, new-look grille, big five-spoke alloy wheels and the side-mounted exhaust outlets.
South Africa will get the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG by the 2013.
