When it comes to luxury and innovation, Mercedes-Benz has upped the ante with its new S-Class. It will also extend the wheelbase of its halo saloon to usher in a Pullman model to fill the void left by its now-defunct Maybach luxury arm.
A report from German Mercedes enthusiasts website mercedes-benz-passion.com now suggests that this model will emerge by May 2014, bringing with it a wheelbase measuring between 3465 mm and 3515 mm; this is roughly 30-40 mm longer than that of the current long wheelbase model. the report also states that, in similar fashion to the Maybach, this model will feature opposing rear seating. Expect lots of electrical adjustment/massage/hidden fridges and privacy glass/trick panoramic roof stuff to make its way into the Pullman.
The new S-Class is likely to spawn a number of spin-offs, including a two-door S-Class Coupe (designation as yet undecided) and possibly a four-seater convertible in a similar vein to the 2007 Ocean Drive concept.
