Compared with the previous Vito, the profile has taken on a more dynamic form. The headlamps and grille have been restyled, while at the rear the large vertical tail lights add a pleasant touch to the range.
On the inside, the instrument binnacle and cluster have been revised. Both front seats have controls for adjusting the height and angle of the seat backrest and cushion.
With the long wheelbase variant and the two roof heights, it is possible to load a range of materials of varying dimensions. Load capacities for the Panel Van, Crew Cab and Crew Bus range from between 3,16 and 5,14 cubic metres and load lengths vary from 1 482mm to 2 470mm. Another handy feature is the extra load space beneath the front seats.
The Vito Crew Cab has been designed for transporting up to five people together with large quantities of material, depending on the variant.
The Crew Bus models can carry up to eight occupants whilst offering a luggage capacity of up to 735 litres.
The new Mercedes-Benz Vito is powered by a CDI diesel engine in-line, four-cylinder diesel unit with a power rating of 110 kW. The diesel model delivers a peak torque of 330 N.m. The diesel engine’s power is transmitted to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission, with the option of a five-speed automatic gearbox.
Standard specification on all Vito models includes ESP (Electronic Stability Program) and the dynamic handling control system incorporating the ABS (anti-lock braking system), ASR (acceleration skid control), EBD (electronic brake force distribution) and BAS (Brake Assist system).
The strength, rigidity and torsional characteristics of all the variants have been further improved. In the event of a collision, two special deformation boxes at the front of the vehicle absorb as much of the kinetic energy as possible and also prevent the frame side members from becoming damaged in minor collisions.
All variants have drivers’ side airbags as a standard feature and the Crew Bus has a front passenger airbag as well. Optional extras include a host of available accessories like a roof rack, tow hitch and alloy wheels.
The Vito 115CDI is covered by the standard one year warranty with unlimited mileage.
