When Cecil Kimber recognised a niche market for modified Morris cars in 1924, little did he know that in 2004, the world would be celebrating MG’s rise to octogenarian status.

Hugely popular and rapidly expanding, the 500 000th MG was produced in 1963 and just 12 years after that, the one-millionth MG was built. The unique LHD MGB Roadster with special Jubilee GT colours and wheels was completed in October 1975 at Brooklands Green.
Eighty years – and one-and-a-half million MGs later – the Octagon is still alive and the line-up features the MG ZR, ZS, ZT and TF and the recently released XPower SV.
Birthday celebrations include an MG Owners Club event at Brands Hatch outside London from 22-33 July and the biggest gathering of MGs ever at Silverstone in July this year.
