As was the case with the previous iteration, the new breed of Mini will spawn a range of different variants and body shapes during its lifetime. The first to follow the unveiling of the standard car is the Mini John Cooper Works Concept that will makes it public debut at the Detroit Show early next year.
There are no technical details currently available, so we’ll just concentrate on the appearance then.
Featuring a grey paint job with a red roof and racing stripes, 18-inch wheels, large air intakes where foglamps would usually be, a roof-mounted spoiler, dual chrome exhaust outlets for the sports exhaust system with a JCW silencer system, side skirts and JCW badging everywhere, the racing pedigree of this car is clear.
Mini has said that “an unmistakable engine soundtrack promises to share centre stage”.
More details will be revealed closer to the official reveal.
