Rumours have again surfaced of a new mid-sized, four-dour sports coupe from Porsche. Pegged to take on the likes of the BMW 5-Series, Merc E Class and Maserati Ghibli, UK’s Autocar reckons it will be called the Pajun and will include a full EV in its line up. And we reckon that given Autocar’s spies are mostly on the money, that’s likely to be its name.
Aside from the all-electric powertrain, you can expect a full range of petrol and diesel engines. Thanks to the use of lightweight hot-formed materials, the Pajun EV is likely to be lighter than current King Of The EV Sportscars, the Tesla Model S, and therefore faster too.
When will we see it? Given how secretive Porsche can be, that will be a sizey guess. We think sometime in 2016, but who knows… they may surprise us next year.
