We have known for a while that Ferrari is hard at work on the 458 Italia’s replacement. Today the company will officially release its new, V8 engined supercar.
Called the 458 M, it will feature a turbocharged, V8 engine. From the video, it is also clear that the new 458 will rev to 8 000 r/min, only 1 000 r/min down on the current, naturally-aspirated 458.
We expect the 0-100 km/h acceleration figure to be around the 3,1 – 3,2 second mark, while top speed would be just over 320 km/h. However, in-gear acceleration will improve compared to the outgoing Italia, meaning the Ferrari will now be a perfect match for the McLaren 650S (watch our track test here).
Being a Ferrari, it is clear that it will still sound the part. Although that high pitch screaming from the Italia is clearly gone, if the sound in the video is anything to go by, it is still quite and exhaust sound.
