Available to order in South Africa with immediate effect, the W205 generation C-Class is ready to take the local compact executive segment by storm. Mercedes-Benz South Africa has revealed the asking price (including VAT, but excluding CO2 tax) for the four models that comprise the launch line-up.
The single diesel model and three petrol variants that make up the initial C-Class range are.
- C220 BlueTEC: R459 000
- C180: R415 900
- C200: R436 600
- C250: R502 600
The 2,1-litre turbodiesel engine in the C220 BlueTec produces 125 kW and 400 N.m of torque, with a claimed fuel consumption average of 4,0 litres/100 km and emits just 113 g/km of CO2 into the atmosphere. The C180 is powered by a 1,6-litre turbopetrol that makes 115 kW and 250 N.m of torque, while both the C200 and C250 employ a 2,0-litre turbopetrol with outputs of 135 kW/300 N.m and 155 kW/350 N.m of torque respectively.
The new C-Class, as with all Mercedes-Benz passenger cars, comes standard with the company’s PremiumDrive six-year/100 000 km maintenance plan.
