Mercedes-Benz has updated its B-Class, or as they call it, the sports tourer. Changes at the front is noticeable owing to the new bumper, wide radiator trim and integrated daytime running lamps including LED high performance headlamps. The rear bumper has also been updated.
Among the updates to the interior includes a larger free-standing display, “up-to-date” feel to the cabin and a better scope for indiviudalisation for the prospective buyer. There is now also the choice of up to 12 colours of ambient lightning to choose from.
Being Mercedes-Benz, the different safety systems have also been improved. The Collision Prevention Assist Plus system incorporates autonomous partial braking while Attention Assist now operates between 60 and 200 km/h.
Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that overseas sales will start on 12 September with the first deliveries taking place November. Expect the new B-Class to arrive in South Africa just before year end or early 2015.
Specifications below are according to Mercedes-Benz. Note that this is the full range, but the SA range still needs to be confirmed.
