Mitsubishi Motors SA has confirmed that it will launch a new supermini contender next month. We have known for the best part of a year that the company considers importing its compact hatchback, but now it is official.
It will be the first time that Mitsubishi launches an A-segment car in South Africa. The Japanese company will offer three models in the range, although this number might increase in the future.
Powering the Mirage will be a 1,2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine, connected to a five-speed manual gearbox. Mitsubishi’s claimed mixed-cycle fuel consumption figure for this supermini is 4,9-litres per 100 km.
Safety equipment on the Mirage will include ABS brakes with EBD and two airbags.
The Mitsubishi Mirage range will also be offered with a 3-year/100 000 km warranty. No further details or pricing have been made available, but look out for a driving impression in the near future.
