The new Range Rover will find its way onto the local market during the course of January 2013 and will be offered with a choice of two V8 powerplants.
According to feedback from the new Range Rover unveiling event in the UK, shortly ahead of the car’s official debut at the upcoming Paris Motor Show, we can expect the first examples reach our shores in January 2013.
The local engine line-up will reportedly comprise updated versions of the current 4,4-litre V8 turbodiesel engine and the supercharged 5,0-litre V8 petrol. Other markets will receive a special version of the 3,0-litre V6 turbodiesel that does service in the Discovery, but initial indications are that this engine will not be heading our way for now.
Official details regarding new engine developments and performance/economy figures will be released closer to the Paris Motor Show.
With its Evoque-influenced styling the new Range Rover is marginally bigger than the outgoing model but, thanks to an all-aluminium monocoque body structure, weighs considerably less.
In addition to such luxury accoutrements as exclusive a Meridian surround sound system and electrically powered upper and lower tailgates, the new Range Rover also features the next generation of the company’s Terrain Response system, which analyses the current driving conditions and automatically selects the most suitable vehicle settings for the terrain.
