Following the introduction of the Volkswagen Up in South Africa, Volkswagen’s international division has released the new Caddy.
Improvements to the exterior include updates that bring even this family- and commercial van in line with the current Volkswagen family face. The front lights and bumper section are now even closer in terms of design to Volkswagen’s Golf and Jetta models.
The interior, both in the commercial and passenger car trim level, are also improved. The Caddy features a new dashboard and updated switchgear. Owners will also be able to specify matching colour trim for the dashboard on higher specification models.
The Caddy is launched with three petrol and four turdodiesel engine variants. The three petrol engines are: the 1,0-litre TSI, three-cylinder (75 kW), the 1,2-litre TSI, four-cylinder (62 kW) and the 1,4-litre TSI, four-cylinder (92 kW). The 2,0-litre turbodiesel derivatives range in outputs from 55 kW to 110 kW.
The Caddy will be launched in Germany at the end of June. Volkswagen of South African confirmed to us that the new model range will be introduced during the fourth quarter of this year.
