South Africans have been deprived of the Volkswagen Golf Plus for years, but with the arrival of the new Mercedes-Benz B-Class and BMW’s new 2 Series Active Tourer, Volkswagen South Africa has finally decided to launch the Golf SV (sports van) in our market.
The Golf SV is just 50 mm longer in the wheelbase and 83 mm longer overall compared to a Golf, but it offers 33 mm more overall legroom and up to 1 520 dm3 of load space.
The local range will comprise an 81 kW TDI turbodiesel and a 90 kW 1,4-litre TSI turbopetrol. A choice of either six-speed manual or DSG automatic transmission will be available at launch.
