Delta has appointed Adri Roe, Allan Smith, Tommy Satchwell and Arthur Boyle to head up its newly-established Chevrolet sales and marketing division.

Roe, 52, is a former general manager of Daewoo Motor SA and will report directly to Delta’s managing director, Willie van Wyk. She will be responsible for the overall management of Chevrolet’s sales and marketing activities from the company’s Johannesburg offices.
Educated in Pretoria, with tertiary qualifications in marketing management, Roe has notched up a number of academic and work achievements, which include an IMM Merit Award for excellence in a course study, and numerous automotive retail awards, including Dealer of the Year and Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) commendations.
”Roe brings to Chevrolet a wealth of skill and more than 20 years’ experience in general management as well as sales and marketing management,” a Delta spokesman said.
Smith, 55, was previously Delta’s national sales and service manager of Delta. In his new position, he will be responsible for the retail performance aspects of the Chevrolet division, including vehicle sales, market penetration and customer satisfaction and establishing the new dealership franchise in South Africa.
Smith joined Delta Motor Corporation in 1969, took up his first position in the then General Motors’ vehicle distribution department and “brings 34 years of experience in automotive retail, dealer development and customer service and interface to the Johannesburg-based Division,” the company said.
Chevrolet’s customer care manager will be Tommy Satchwell and he will be responsible for after sales service, including customer-related issues and the management of parts and accessories for the Johannesburg-based division.
Satchwell, 44, formerly worked in Delta’s parts and accessories division as manager of procurement and material control. He joined Delta as a graduate in training in 1989 and has experience in strategic planning, business planning and product costing.
Arthur Boyle, 50, will be the marketing manager of the Chevrolet sales and marketing division. Operating from the division’s offices in Johannesburg, his duties will involve the implementation of marketing and advertising campaigns to promote the Chevrolet brand.
Having joined the then General Motors (SA) in 1974, Boyle has nearly 30 years experience in the automotive industry. Before his new appointment, Boyle was Delta’s business planning manager for 10 years.
