Nissan has unveiled its all-new Chinese spec Tiida hatchback at the Shanghai Auto Show. We use this term mildly, but when it comes to styling, the new Tiida hatchback is a lot more exciting than the model it replaces.
Targeted at new families, Nissan claims that what will draw these families in are points such as premium styling and quality. The wheelbase of the Tiida has grown by 100 mm, and the windscreen size has also increased for better visability.
Power comes from Nissan’s HR16DE engine. Reduced emissions and improved consumption is a result of Nissan Pure Drive technologies. The Chinese market can also look forward to turbo-charged Tiida hatchbacks (it would be nice to get that here too).
The new Tiida hatch will be launched in China in May 2011. A world-wide (130 countires) rollout will be complete by 2014.
