Hot on the heels of those leaked Subaru WRX STi images, comes the unveiling of a new race version developed for the 24 Hours Nürburgring endurance race over 19-22 June 2014 in Germany.
Shown today at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2014 – a show that specialises in aftermarket products – this will be Subaru’s seventh consecutive entry in the famous endurance race held on the world’s most challenging motorsport circuit.
The Scooby is entered into the SP3T class – a class Subaru have twice won – and will be driven by Japan’s Toshihiro Yoshida and Kouta Sasaki, as well as by two additional drivers from Europe. Like last year, Hideharu Tatsumi will take the helm of operations as team manager.
The production WRX STi will officially be unveiled at next week’s North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
