Auto Africa visitors will be able to get down and dirty at the Nissan leisure exhibition while doing a lap of a 4×4 obstacle course.
The exhibit is built at the 4×4 track and concentrated around the Nissan show truck, a spectacular 20-metre articulated truck that acts as a mobile nerve centre, or in this case, as a high-tech hospitality area.
Members of the public can join an experienced and highly-qualified Nissan/Dunlop Off Road Tactix instructor for a lap of a 4×4 obstacle course, where a selection of Nissan recreational vehicles will tackle a number of obstacles, including a steep side slope, axle twisters, beach sand, and mudpools.
As well as the latest version of the Patrol off-road wagon, Nissan will have both petrol and turbodiesel versions of the Hardbody double cabs for demonstration purposes. A static display alongside the show truck will be representative of the current Nissan 4×4 line-up, with Hardbody, Patrol and X-Trail on hand for those who want to study the vehicles close up.
One of the most impressive parts of the display will be the show truck itself, a custom-made horse and trailer combination.
The UD350 Nissan Diesel horse is powered by a 350 kW turbodiesel, and tows a 12-metre long double-axle trailer which features air suspension, side awnings, flat-screen televisions, and its own generator. All the necessary equipment to convert it into a comfortable and classy entertainment area is carried on board.
