Last week we brought you some information on the upcoming Nismo edition GT-R. As it turns out we were a little conservative with our speculation. More concrete info as well as these images have made their way onto the internet and the numbers are staggering!
Using the now familiar 3,8-litre twin-turbocharged V6, the Nismo will, reportedly, extract 446 kW and a tar-ripping 650 N.m. from its engine. The hike in power is mostly possible due to revised intake and exhaust systems, new ignition timing and enlarged turbos derived from the GT-R Nismo GT3 race car.
With the increase in power and when equipped with the – optional – track pack, the Nismo lapped the famed Nürburgring in 7 min 08,69 sec in the hands of Nissan driver Michael Krumm. The track pack not only reduces weight by 65 kg, but also improves the car’s suspension.
The GT-R Nismo will go on sale in overseas markets the first quarter of 2014, and we expect it locally not too long after that.
