Peugeot has revealed its SXC Crossover Concept ahead of its Shangai Auto Show debut. This sleek concept was designed by Peugeot Style Studios at the China Tech Centre to suit the needs of the Chinese market – it is claimed to offer the practicality of an SUV with the comfort of a saloon.
The styling is quite dramatic by Peugeot standards, with a floating grille, narrow, angled headlamps, large air intakes at the front, large 22-inch wheels and character lines that give it a muscular look.
Peugeot claims that, with a length of 4 870 mm, height of 1 610 mm and a width of 2 035 mm, the SXC offers generous space for four passengers.
It makes use of Peugeot’s 1,6 THP engine that has a maximum output of 160 kW. Complementing this is a 70 kW electric motor, which results in a combined power output of 230 kW. Fuel consumption and emission figures are 5,8 litres/100 km and 143 g/km respectively.
