The drop-top versions of the two most powerful members of Porsche’s 911 family have broken cover on the ‘web ahead of their official unveilings at the Los Angeles Motor Show on November 20.
Despite the top being lopped off, Porsche has managed to retain much of the Coupé’s profile thanks to a lightweight, magnesium alloy framed, folding roof that features a bowed top section that echoes the hardtop’s roofline.
This powered item can be raised or stowed in 13 seconds at speeds of up to 48 km/h.
The Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet derives its shove from a turbocharged 3,8-litre flat-six engine developing 383 kW, while the S ups the ante with an output of 412 kW. Both models are coupled with Porsche’s PDK dual-clutch transmissions and can reach a top speed of 314 km/h, with the S hitting 100 km/h from standstill in 3,1 seconds – 0,2 seconds up on the Turbo.
Details regarding trim and driver assistance systems have yet to be confirmed, but its likely that they will mirror those of the hard-top equivalents.
