Scans from an Auto Motor und Sport article showing a comparison between the Audi Q5 and the eagerly awaited Porsche Macan have leaked onto the web ahead of the car’s official debut at the LA Motor Show at the end of this month.
As expected the Macan’s styling borrows heavily from its bigger brother, the Cayenne, but the Q5-based Porsche seems to wear those lines in a tighter, better-proportioned package.
Standout features include quad-LED headlamp elements, a steeply sloped roofline a boot-mounted spoiler and narrow brakelamps akin to those of the current-generation 911.
The cabin is essentially a micronized version of the Cayenne’s, with a long centre console, three-spoke sports steering wheel and infotainment system.
The initial powerplant line-up is expected to comprise a brace of turbocharged petrol units, possibly V6 engines with 3,0- and 3,6-litre displacements, developing 250 and 294 kW.
CAR will be at the LA Motor Show later this month and will report on local availability and model line-up details at that time
