The Porsche Classic line now features an official Porsche Navigation Radio that is compatible for a wide range of classic 911 models.
The navigation system fits a DIN-1 slot, features a 3,5-inch screen, has six integrated buttons and two knobs for access to functions that include radio, external music sources and Bluetooth connectivity in addition to the navigation functions.
There’s also a built-in microphone and integrated 4×45 watt amplifier, which can be connected directly to the 911’s standard sound system with an adaptor cable. All navigational data for the 2D and 3D maps available is store on a 8GB microSD card.
Thanks to the minimalist look, the Navigation Radio actually looks good. It fits all models from the original 911 to the last air-cooled generation, the 993. There’s no word yet on whether or not the system will be available for classic Porsche owners in South Africa though. At the moment, it’s available in Germany for the equivalent of R15 600.
