With the start of the 2014 F1 season a little over a month away the eleven teams set to compete for this year’s championship are hard at work getting accustomed to new regulations that, crucially, include the use of a new 1,6-litre turbocharged V6 engine, replacing the 2,4-litre normally aspirated V8 units used since 2006.
For some teams (including reigning champions, Red Bull), however, as witnessed during the first official test outing the Circuito de Jerez in Spain, getting to grips with these powertrains has to date proven somewhat more difficult than hoped.
