Mercedes-Benz South Africa recently introduced a new maintenance plan called PremiumDrive, which is more comprehensive than the outgoing MobiloDrive and is a standard 6 year/100 000 km plan without any customer contribution. Customers can now also enjoy more extensions on their PremiumDrive plans as well.
“With the latest PremiumDrive maintenance plan, we at Mercedes-Benz are committed to offering our discerning customers the ‘best-in-class’ service offering in the industry, giving further peace of mind. Following extensive research and after undertaking various customer surveys and focus groups, we found that customer buying behaviour and trends had shifted and customers preferred to have full cover on their maintenance contract, than proportionate contributions,” said Naeem Hassim, vice president of aftersales at MBSA.
The benefits of the new PremiumDrive maintenance plan include roadside sssistance, a touring guarantee that covers accomodation, public transport and vehicle repatriation as a result of vehicle breakdown that happens in excess of 100 km from the vehicle’s licensing authority, as well as Sign and Drive, which provides assistances for a a flat battery or damaged tyre.
Customers also have the option of of extending their PremiumDrive plans with the PremiumDrive 100 (8 years/100 000 km), 140 (8 years/140 000 km), 160 (8 years/160 000 km), or 180 (8 years/180 000 km). Existing MobiloDrive 120 plans can also be upgraded to PremiumDrive from February with applicable costs if the customer’s car has recorded less than 60 000 km.
“Over the past months, intensive training of all the sales staff throughout the dealer network has been implemented, through dealer in-house and e-learning courses. These sales staff are well versed to confidently take customers through our new offering,” Hassim said.
