The Toyota Camry's styling has been reworked and its prices slashed to make it more alluring to buyers.

As part of the new styling, the front end now shows off a new headlight design with clear lenses and stacked lights. New too are the grille and front bumper while the rear has been revised. Fresh alloy wheels complete the package.

Interior changes include revised instrumentation, an extended centre console with revised heating and ventilation controls and steering wheel mounted audio remote controls.

The range retains its existing 2,4- and 3,0-litre V6 engines. Pricing has been cut by up to 10 per cent. The base 2,4-litre XLi, with a five-speed manual transmission, now costs R192 240, which undercuts the previous model by 10 per cent. Savings vary between R18 365 and R25 185, depending on the model.

Leather seats and door trim are available on the 2,4-litre XLi and GLi versions until the end of January 2005. Thereafter, the added leather trim will cost R5 000 extra.
