The Renault SA and Nissan SA have agreed to share the Japanese-subsidiary’s parts warehouse in Rosslyn.
“About 9 000 Renault part lines will be added to the 75 000 currently stocked in Nissan’s Rosslyn parts infrastructure – which includes a bonded warehouse,” a Nissan spokesman said.
All Renault parts will be received, stored and distributed via this facility and the move is expected to result in an improved service to South Africa’s 40 Renault dealers and their customers.
Renault dealers were already benefiting from the technical training facility in Nissan’s Midrand complex, the spokesman said.
CARtoday.com reported in October last year that Renault SA technicians would be trained – with the help of the latest equipment from the French manufacturer – at the Midrand complex.
“The Nissan parts and accessories infrastructure will be able to comfortably handle the additional workload from the integration of Renault South Africa’s parts lines,” the spokesman said.
