A few weeks ago Renault launched the all-new Sandero onto the local market. The company has followed this up with the all-new Sandero Stepway.
Like its predecessor, the new model is based on its namesake with added hallmarks that give the crossover credentials: raised ride height, chunky tyres, bash plates, wheelarch trim and roof rails.
Under the hood is the same three cylinder, turbocharged 66 kW powerplant fitted in the standard Sandero (and shared with Clio). This all-aluminium motor develops peak torque 135 N.m from 2 500 r/min. Renault claims an impressive fuel consumption figure of 5,4 litres/100 km in the combined NEDC while emitting only 124 g of CO²/km.
The Sandero Stepway sells for R159 900, which includes a five-year/150 000 km warranty and a two-year/30 000 km service plan.
