It is with great regret and sadness that CAR reports the passing of one of its own. An unforgettable and greatly loved member of the team, road test assistant, John Martin Naude passed away last night after suffering from an epileptic attack.
The 29 year old Mitchell’s Plain resident graduated from Oval North High School in 2003. He joined RamsayMedia in 2008 as a part of the stock room team and a year later he was promoted to the CAR team as road test assistant.
Enthusiastic about cars Naude quickly fitted in with the team and he was willing to help out in any way possible, his work ethic was unparalleled.
Always eager to help on early morning photoshoots John took up photography, first under the tutelage of the more senior lensmen at CAR, then more formally at the Cape Town School Of Photography. Whenever he felt inspired the self-confessed Ford and muscle car fan also penned a few pieces for our sister site carmagblog.co.za, you can read his contributions by clicking here.
Naude is survived by his mother, father, brother and two sisters, and he will be dearly missed by all of us here at CAR.
Rest in Peace Johnny, we know you’re enjoying a long open road in a Mustang…
