The Fuore Design studio has released another stunner at Geneva this year. The BlackJag, a fusion between Formula 1 and Jaguar, should up the temperature by quite a few degrees.
Expanding on the ground covered by its predecessor, the XF10, at Barcelona last year, the BlackJag is an another attempt to capture the F1 joie de vivre in a road-going sports car. And while the XF10 was meant to exude raw power and sportiness, the BlackJag is more poised and refined.
“We wanted our XF10 to mature from a racy sports car to an elegant and sophisticated drive. BlackJag embraces design elements that inspire style and poise, maintaining the sporting image,” explained the creative force behind the BlackJag and CEO of Fuore Design Erwin Himmel.
“The name BlackJag inspires elegance, the value that formed the inspiration for our design study”, explained Himmel.
The BlackJag´s body was simplified with air intakes along the body now appearing much smoother. Changes also include the omission of air intakes along the doors and redesigned door handles. The headlights have been given the once-over, now incorporating the fog lights too, while at the rear, the exhaust pipes have been further integrated.
The BlackJag is a two-seater sports car housing a 10-cylinder seven-litre engine with four valves per cylinder and a double-overhead camshaft. This 477kW monster is claimed to sprint from zero to 100km/h in 3,8 seconds and on to 340km/h.
