I have the following questions:
1. Can normal tyres be fitted to a BMW runflat specification rim?
2. I’ve recently had two new Bridgestones fitted to my 2006 BMW, but cannot see any difference between the original tyres and the new ones. Can one safely assume that the Bridgestones that are now on sale are of the new generation?

1. Yes, normal tyres can be fitted to a runflat BMW wheel, but you’ll have to make provision for a spare wheel.
2. The Bridgestone factory would obviously only deliver the new generation tyres, but only the dealer will know what he delivered to you. Tyre improvements cannot always be seen from the outside.
