It seems like we’re in for another exciting and petrol-fuelled racing movie. The dust has barely settled after the overseas’ launch of Senna, and it seems another Formula 1-based movie is on the way.
Called Rush, the movie will be based on the battle during the 1978 Formula 1 Championship between Niki Lauda and James Hunt. It was also the season where Niki Lauda suffered his devastating and fiery crash at the Nurburgring. Most of us are not old enough to have watched Formula 1 in those days, but pay YouTube a visit and you will quickly see how different racing was back then compared to today.
If reports are to be believed, Ron Howard will direct this movie. He is known for directing movies such as Cocoon, Apollo 13 and more recently Frost/Nixon. And while all this is going on, apparently Steven Spielberg is interested in doing a movie on James Hunt…
I say, start filming!
