With a nose like that of a horned adder and aggressive, vertically-stacked headlights, the soon-to-be-released TVR Sagaris promises to be as quick as it is intimidating.
With a nose like that of a horned adder and aggressive, vertically-stacked headlights, the soon-to-be-released TVR Sagaris promises to be as quick as it is intimidating.
The Blackpool-based specialist sportscar builder was expected to launch the T350-based road-legal race car at London’s Earls Court later this week. But while the standard T350 has a 260-kW powerplant, the Sagaris will get the 300 kW four-litre straight-six powerplant from the Tuscan S.
CARtoday.com reported last year that the T350C features unique rear styling – a rounded rump with Maserati-style boomerang lights and a “swiss cheese” diffuser. These features, as well as the side-hinged boot door, will be carried over to the Sagaris.
At the front, aggressive-looking scoops (festooned with fang-like verticle fins) have been added. A low spoiler will also be added to optimise the TVR’s aerodynamics for circuit.
In order to increase the Sagaris’ stability while cornering, it will have a wider track than the T350. TVR designers shed some of the Sagaris’ weight by extensive use of carbon fibre in the cabin.
TVR is distributed in South Africa by Heritage Cars.
