Hyundai has released the first official images of the new, more grown-up i10 ahead of its public debut at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show.
Looking more mature and classy than the model it replaces, the second-generation Hyundai i10 is based on an all-new platform with a wheelbase that is 5 mm longer. Externally, the new car is longer (by 80 mm), wider (by 65mm) and lower (by 50 mm) than the model it replaces and, as a result, is is said to have more legroom and luggage capacity than its competitors with figures standing at 1 890 mm and 252 dm3, respectively. Hyundai claims that the new dimensions, plus the relocated dampers, translate into more precise wheel control and refined driving dynamics.
The Korean company has also stated that this new generation i10 will offer improved levels of comfort and a wide range of standard features that are usually found on vehicles in segments above. Some of the nice-to-have features that will be available include climate control, heated leather steering wheel and cruise control with speed limiter, while safety is bolstered by the addition of stability control and curtain airbags as standard.
The engine line-up has yet to be confirmed, but we don’t expect it to deviate too much from that of the current car.
