The process of filling up has become a headache for most drivers, but for some the fear of pulling up adjacent to the pumps is for different reasons. This slammed Golf GTI requires its rear wheel to be removed before it can be filled up all in the name of stance.
Volkswagen products have one of the largest aftermarket communities the world over, with the revered Golf being one of the core models in their portfolio boasting a host of modification possibilities for decades. The great thing about this otherwise mundane and mass produced car is that the endless possibility for modification means that owners can seriously individualise their own cars.

This is what Tiktok user mkvtay, also known as Dante has done with his slammed Golf GTI build; although it loses some, erm… actually most of its practicality. His modifications have gone to the extremes where each time the cambered out hatchback needs refuelling, the right rear wheel needs to be completely removed. This is because the deep dish rim with its stretched tyre barely reaching the lip of the metal intersects with the fuel line that runs from the filler cap to the tank which is located behind the rear seats.
The owner has thus removed the connecting component so that the rim, with its obscene angle of camber can tuck behind the fenders as much as possible. What this means in layman terms is that each time the slammed Golf GTI requires more fuel, the car needs to be driven onto a wooden spacer so that a jack can fit underneath the chassis and be raised up for the rim to be removed and fuel to be manually poured into the pipe located in the wheel well.
The logical thing to do would be to relocate the fuel tank or use a fuel cell, however the boot is consumed by a sound system. This begs the question, how far would you go in the name of aesthetics and stance or social media popularity? We know we would take the superb Golf Mk7 GTI in standard guise over this anyday.
