The warranty extension will be back-dated to February 1 2002 for existing owners and is fully backed by the parent company in Korea.
According to SsangYong, the warranty package is now on par with the best available from other distributors.
Standard on all SsangYong vehicles is a host of items such as roadside and emergency medical assistance, emergency medical evacuation, overnight accommodation in the unlikely event of a breakdown, contribution towards a rental car if necessary and numerous other features. The emergency number for SsangYong is 0861 SsangYong or 0861 772649669. An extended maintenance package is also available.
CARtoday.com reported recently that the Korean manufacturer earned R318 million in the January to March period, a quarterly record compared with a loss shown last year. Sales also rose 48 per cent.
SsangYong sold 38 263 of its sport-utility vehicles (Musso, Korando and the Rexton) in the first quarter of this year, 21 per cent more than in the same period last year. Unit sales are expected to rise 18 per cent over last year to 148 000 vehicles.
