The Ssangyong Musso Sport double cab 4X4 was launched earlier this year and the latest release, a second 4X2 derivative, has been made available in both manual and automatic versions.

The 4X2 Musso Sports offers a range of features carried over from its 4X4 sibling, and aesthetically remains the same. As with the 4X4 double cab, the 4X2 also offers the largest cab in the double-cab market with full size rear doors adapted from the Musso SUV.

Using the same engine as the 4X4 model, the five-cylinder 290TDi engine delivers 88 kW at 4 000 r/min and 250 N.m at 2 250 r/min. As yet, only the one engine option is available with no alternatives planned. The Musso comes standard with a five-speed manual transmission with an optional four-speed manual transmission.

Standard features on the 4X2 Musso Sport include a chrome roll bar, double sealer load box, tonneau cover, electric windows and mirrors and air conditioning. Height adjustable power steering, an audio system, 16-inch alloy wheels and remote central locking are standard too.

As far as safety is concerned, the 4X2 comes with a driver’s airbag, pre-tensioner safety belts and side impact protection beams.

The new version is covered by a full maintenance plan covering the Musso Sports for three years or 60000km in addition to the factory warranty of three years or 100000km.

The manual model sells for R229 995 while the automatic costs R244 980.
