SsangYong has revealed its XIV-1 Concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show. This vehicle is intended to be a “strategic model for the global market”.
The XIV has been created as a premium CUV vehicle that makes use of an intelligent user interface, which allows drivers to connect their mobile devices to the system of the car, so that they can check various information as well as control the vehicle.
The exterior is defined by a full-length glass roof, a large frontal area that draws inspiration from the Korando, as well as LED headlamps. Inside there is an aluminium facia, and the feeling of spaciousness has been credited to the pillar-less doors.
The XIV-1 is merely a foretaste of things to come from SsangYong. The company plans to use it as a building block for other projects, including the new concept Range Extended EV.
Yoo-Il Lee, president and CEO of Ssangyong Motor, stated that "the XIV-1 is the culmination of Ssangyong's product development capabilities and a strategic model for the global market that embodies our experimental and progressive design sprit”.
