Subaru SA’s sales between September 2002 and October 2003 increased by 54 per cent and according to the company’s executive director, Teresita van Gaalen, the boom was likely to continue next year.

The manufacturer recorded a 20 per cent increase in overall sales for the year, compared with the predicted industry increase of five per cent.

"The forecast for Subaru here has never been better and we intend translating this opportunity into sales figures based on an affordability premise within the segments of the market which we serve.

"The all-new Legacy range launched last month is already drawing attention from corporate and fleet buyers, particularly the normally-aspirated 2,5-litre sedan and touring wagon.

"In January we will launch another new model," Van Gaalen said.
