Images of the facelifted Suzuki Grand Vitara have emerged on the ‘web ahead of the car’s local introduction towards the end of this year.
The images show a mild facelift to the long-serving Grand Vitara, which has been on our market in its third-generation guise since 2008. The Grand Vitara (known in certain markets as the Escudo, as per the above images found via autoevolution.com) has undergone some minor cosmetic changes that encompass redesigned headlamps, a more upmarket grille and some mild tweaks to the cabin.
According to Suzuki’s local arm, the updated Grand Vitara will arrive here during the fourth-quarter of 2012. We’ve ascertained that the newcomer will still be powered by the current model’s four-cylinder 2,4-litre petrol engine (122 kW/225 N.m) in both manual and automatic guises, and will be offered with a choice of base- and high-level trim specifications.
Further details will emerge closer to the car’s arrival, but it’s believed that the mechanicals (read all-wheel drive, chassis and suspension set-ups) will remain untouched. South Africa will not receive the 104 kW 2,0-litre petrol engine, which will be reserved for European markets.
