Indian manufacturer Tata introduced its range of medium and heavy commercial vehicles at Auto Africa and announced plans to invest R40-million in a local bus assembly unit.
At the unveiling of its range of commercial vehicles, the manufacturer introduced the Novus heavy commercial vehicle range, which is manufactured at Tata Daewoo Commercial Vehicles in South Korea.
The company also showcased its eight-ton truck, designed especially for South African conditions and equipped with a 134 kW engine and overdrive gearbox.
The Novus range includes a tipper concrete mixer and tractor-trailer, both of which will be available during the first quarter of 2005.
