We can expect to see a new Aston Martin Vantage in the near future, but for now the most focused Vantage yet seems to be on the cards. Aston Martin has released this video showing a GT3 version which will be released in March.
From the video we can gather that the British manufacturer has clearly made use of its knowledge gained through its endurance racing programme. Expect the GT3 to be lighter, offer more power and (obviously) have an enormous rear wing.
We expect to see a tuned version of the V12 Vantage S’s engine under the bonnet. Power will be up from the S’s 421 kW and 620 N.m. A test mule has already been spotted testing at the ‘Ring, featuring wider front and rear wheelarches. Rumours also suggest that it might be a limited production run of only 100 cars.
According to the video, Aston Martin will launch the Vantage GT3 at the Geneva Motor Show, the same event Porsche is rumoured to launch its 991 GT3 RS – coincidence?
