In automotive circles Lee Noble is known as the founder of his very own supercar manufacturing firm – Noble Automotive Ltd, as well as being a talented designer. Now, the British entrepreneur is well underway with plans to release a new supercar under his new brand, Fenix Automotive.
According to a press release, Noble has hinted that the all-new Fenix supercar will be even more focused than his previous triumph, the Noble M12, with dramatic design and finished that rival exotica costing a lot more…
“The M12 was hugely successful, but we needed to move the game on in terms of design. The new car’s styling owes nothing to what I’ve done before and has quite literally been a ‘clean sheet’ exercise from the start. It’s edgy, with powerful lines, and aerodynamically will be in another league to any of my previous cars,” said Noble.
The unnamed supercar will be made available with a choice of two engines – both supplied by General Motors. A356 kW LS3 V8 is the “base” unit, while a supercharged 476 kW 6,2-litre LS9 V8 borrowed from the Corvette ZR1 will be the range-topper. As the supercar will tip the scales at approximately 1 200 kg, Fenix suggests a zero to 160 km/h in about seven seconds and a top speed of 320 km/h.
“Our first prototype is now in build and development will start in around one month’s time. We’ll be hot-weather testing the first prototype on the mountain roads around Port Elizabeth, South Africa, where the car will be manufactured. But I’m itching to get the car back to the UK where I can set it up on roads I know well,” concluded Noble.
